On September 6, 2021, the Federal government approved an Emergency Disaster Declaration for New York City (“City”) following the devastation caused by Post-Tropical Cyclone Ida and its unprecedented, historic rainfall.

The declaration’s authorization of emergency federal funding for individuals and Homeowners covered four of the City’s five counties: Bronx, Kings, Queens, and Richmond.

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”), more than 30,000 New Yorkers have registered for emergency assistance in the impacted boroughs in the wake of Ida.

In general, the Velez Organization is providing construction support to Homeowners in neighborhoods impacted by Hurricane Ida; providing additional support where possible to ensure the damaged property can be returned to a decent, safe, and sanitary state; providing oversight and implementation aid sources.
