Velez Organization provided construction management services as a subconsultant to Skanska on The Forum, a 3-story, 56,000 SF academic conference center at Columbia University’s Manhattanville Campus. The project included construction of a 437-seat auditorium, co-working and meeting spaces, classrooms, galleries, a café, and faculty offices, along with a below-grade level housing mechanical and support systems.

The project required close coordination of structural, mechanical, and finish work within a complex precast concrete building envelope, along with adherence to rigorous LEED sustainability standards. The Forum achieved LEED Gold Certification and is part of the first LEED Platinum-rated campus plan in the country.
