Our Beginning

The Velez Organization was founded in 1973 by Andrew Velez, operating out of a small apartment in Brooklyn, New York. The company earned its reputation through hands-on construction experience, personal relationships, and a track record of solving problems in the field. Consistent performance and repeat clients helped the firm grow from local contracting work into larger, more complex projects.

The Company Today

Today, the Velez Organization delivers construction management and general contracting for institutional, corporate, and public-sector clients, with the ability to self-perform key trades through our Special Projects Division. We manage projects from early planning through completion, supporting owners, architects, and stakeholders at every stage. Since 2019, under the leadership of President Elizabeth Velez, the company has expanded its portfolio while maintaining the hands-on approach and client accessibility established at its founding.
